Obviously, the Pentium 4 has a 16-bit external bus and is missing its floating-point unit. ;)

No, seriously: There was an obscure article which listed all the features which had been consider for the Netburst architecture. Even though it's normal for finalized designs to not have every single potential feature, people worldwide decided that the described microarchitecture with all the extra features was the "real" P4 while the part that was introduced was a wimpy ghost of its former self.

It's really silly.

Tenchu, Did they not remove some advanced cache sections to make it small enough for .18. Parts they intend to put back when they go to .13??
This was why it has failed to live up to its potntial as an Athlon killer.
