In answer to your question if I expect the Naz to go north next week, I gotta tell ya.... I don't know. Scratch my head. I could argue either way. 1.) NAZ UP - We are still in the recent 7 week channel. Like I've said before, the ole Naz has oscillated really very nicely in that channel. In the middle now. Held that 2220 line the past few days. Nice. Sentiment was bullish last week. Folks wanted that Naz to push up. Look at how it seems everyone clung on to the INTC comments as great news. You'd think we would be at Naz 2500 in a week by what folks were saying last Thursday night on SI after the INTC news. Reality check.... 2.) NAZ DOWN - Head and shoulders formations everywhere. Failed to hold an assault on 2250 three times this past week. Naz bounced off the downtrend line from Sept, 2000. Couldn't break through it. Warnings galore. Still coming every day. Like you've been preaching, the PE's aren't getting better with revised numbers. Folks need to refigure those PE's when the revised numbers are handed out. Expirations week. Some of the techs are above their max pain point. Push will be to bring them down. 3.) PREDICTION - I think down this week. I don't have a good feel for tomorrow. With it being expirations week, we are likely to get a fake anyway. 4.) 04 LEAPS - Don't forget new 2004 leaps will come out after expiration, depending on the cycle of the issue. Sometimes I've attracted some good positions at the initiation of new leaps. 5.) ME - I'm not going to be in any hurry this week. May sit on my hands Monday. If there is a significant movement, I'll be more inclined to act and evaluate an entry accordingly. Although I have not been buying options in single issues the past few months, I do still like EXTR and especially BEAS. Also, I am considering buying JDSU calls if it goes below 16. Patience, I tell myself. Patience.... 6.) If you're LTBH, dollar cost average the quality techs, don't worry, be happy, and go back to sleep. RR
