Hi Jan,

I think you're up to your old tricks again. Good luck. I hope all is going well for you.

Jan, I think that if you can make a reasonable profit doing something you enjoy, then you've found a winning formula. What you refer to as "not very profitable" would rate a bit higher in my book (in terms of cumulative percentage gain). Best of luck to you... especially that 700 share short play ;)

In addition to my recent AMAT short
I have an on-going short-biased Amat position:
- In early May I shorted 700 Amat above $53;
- Wrote 6 may-50 puts for $3+ the following day.
- On the Amat earning report day I wrote(sold) 3 Jul calls for $6 premium.
- Then Amat went to 58 and I wrote 2 Jul-50 calls for $9.80(asked for 3 contracts but only 2 filled).
- Pocketed the may-50 premium; $1,600.
- then, Bot 600 Amat under 49 and sold above 51
- again, Bot 600 Amat under 50 and sold at 51+
- again, Bot 600 Amat back at 50 and sold at 53
- Bot back the same 600 shares under 52 and sold 500 shares today at 55.23.

So again, I am 700 short, 100 long(plus the above options).

It's not very profitable, but it's been pretty good. What ya think? Regards!

Jan,

I can't locate the Amazon shares you bought long last spring. How much have you made on them?
