Lefty,

You are right. I do place my bets through Ladbrokes and I called them today to place my Belmont bet (Dollar Bill and Invisible Ink...wish me luck!) and Ladbrokes told me that only New York, New Jersy and Pennsylvania residents are allowed to bet the Belmont races. I wanted to use Ladbrokes to make this bet because I like the fact that all monies wagered are pooled with the actual track pool, so the pay-out is based on actual track odds. I had to resort to my offshore account to bet the Belmont, but betting exotics can be costly because this money is not pooled with the track pool and the pay-out could be significantly less than the actual track odds. This is what sets Youbet/TVG apart from the 1000 or so offshore houses you speak of. The account I use, for example, pays a maximum of 600 to 1 on a trifector. The Derby tri paid 13K; offshore I would have collected only $1200.
