I would not hire an MBA whose only knowledge of
my company was acquired from ads.
If an MBA were to apply he or she should know
something about the company. so as to be able to
discuss its products, productionm, marketing,
or whatever the MBA is interested in doing for
the company.

Your MBA would have no family or friends that would be hard to explain where he worked and why he is a big shot Harvard MBA and has to go work at some podunk company that "nobody" ever heard of?

I worked at HP for 20 yrs and did optical communication devices. Back in 1978 it was pretty hard to explain why all this was hot new technology for the future but today EVERYONE knows what fiber optics are. I have wonderful memories of the blank stares from relatives to go along with "why don't ya just use a wire like the phone company Sonny?" I can tell ya first hand that this was a hurdle to get over before I accepted the job rather than "working for IBM building computers!" that everyone knew about.
