Exactly. Nicholson is always just Jack Nicholson as_________. I never really buy him as the character (although I'm not sure whether or not that is from my own perception based on his acting or my perception that has been influenced by his cult of personality of the years). Kevin Costner is the same (albeit a much more painful dud than Nicholson)...Julia Roberts too.

One Flew over the Cukoos Nest was Cool Hand Luke on Acid. I liked them both.
