Paul, No they are dumb as hammers. They have not yet seen that their ecosystem has altered. dell has changed the feeding rules and now dell can feed and grow fat and they can feed and starve as they have too much fat as represented by excess costs at all levels. their bloated management structure kills them, their higher cost of parts kills them, their execs need to be shot. but no matter, soon they will be dead. 2-3 years will finish them unless they smarten up or have collateral businesses to prop them up(IBM). They remind me the the French generals who relied on the maginot line....they were outflanked as Dell has outflanked CPQ, GTW and IBM. But no matter, already there are SD shopps after dell and they are soon gouing to emerge as the threat to dell after the others retreat from the low profit arena. Bill
