Chuck how can you assume the transition to Palomino will be the same?

Fab 30 is going to be just for Palomino's and Morgan's and it's only 55% up to speed. (Maybe 60%) Fab 25 is going to have to produce Duron's and some T-birds until the end of the Year. I'm not sure that Palomino will be build on Al at fab 25.

<The cutover from Thunderbird to Palomino should be about the same speed as previous two cutovers based on K7 core. If not, there is very likely a problem.>

Not so. The differences between K75 and T-bird were very minor -- the addition of the L2. Not even speed-path work was done.

On the other hand, the M-tang/Palomino core was completely redone with custom-designed logic for speed and short-circuit evaluations to minimize number of circuit switches and to save power. Also the drive strengths of non-critical path circuits were reduced to minimize power consumption.

On top of that we have a bunch of new architectural features like PowerNow, SSE, HW prefetch and TLB improvements.
