For all I care, both scenarios are correct. Both sides could be pawns, depending on who you talk to.

And the comparison could be stretched further since both Europe and the Arab nations have traditionally disenfranchised both the Jews and Palestinians. The Europeans mainly created the concept of a Jewish homeland in Palestine in the hopes that Jews were leave voluntarily (or with a bit of a "push").

Of course, some folks, particularly in Britain, felt a measure of sympathy for the ongoing racism endured by the Jews, but most others were only too happy to see the Jews go.

And that's pretty much the same scenario with the Palestinians. The Arabs don't mind having them around as cheap labor, but none of them want to give them equal status. So the easiest way to keep them at bay, is to keep them in a perpetual state of conflict with Israel.

- in the SS, was Arbeitseinsatzfuhrer subordinat to Laggerkommandant or to Rapportfuhrer or to Kommandofuhrer?
