So I suppose that a lot of this ground has been gone over quite a bit, but I also suppose that a lot of evidence was destroyed by people who wanted to cover their own asses at the end. Well, don't assume you have a conspiracy before you even get started. Modern war, after the American Civil War, was necessarily industrial. I think Yamamoto understood this when he warned that America was a sleeping giant best left unmolested. The next major war is likely not to be decided by who can marshal the most factories. It will be a come-as-you are affair, and any sneak attack will be far more deadly than the Pearl Harbor episode.
