RtS,

Well, the SOX-X came close to breaking 700 this past week - 697.04 high on Thursday, 6/7, and 697.03 high on Friday, 6/8, but the goal remained out of reach. Friday being a "down day" the index closed at 675.70. As you point out, the path of least resistance may be downward to 575 or below.

Thanks for the articles - they were very informative.

I have the feeling that all that money sitting on the sidelines waiting to be invested is becoming very impatient. Any good news at all gives a real boost to the market. On the other hand, there are many companies out there, like JNPR, that preannounced on Friday which kills all the enthusiasm.

If the SOX-X continues to slide on Monday, and the 697.04 high remains the high for this cycle, that points to a downward trend from the cycle high set on 5/22 at 710.78. A lot probably depends on how many "downward" surprises there are left out there for this season of earnings preannouncements over the next couple of weeks.

Don
