At 30 bucks, mkt cap would be $8.4 bil (280m shares out). Had earnings of $2 bil last year, not counting Nabisco, which is now part of Kraft.
Are these numbers correct? I'm literally scribbling on the back of an envelope. Sure seems reasonable.
Coming out of a recession, or downturn, or whatever they end up calling this, other areas of the market likely will do much better than food (defensive).
Still, this is a much safer place to be than a lot of other things I can think of. Depends on your tastes.<g>
