'I got some kind of kick out of the claims of the black Creoles that they were lighter than white - lighter than me - it's true - some do have blue eyes - mine are brown - and so it goes - -'

I have a cousin, same age as me that is extremely fair and blond haired and blue eyed, yet were you to darken his his hair and complexion (he doesn't tan) his features would leap out as Chinese. Heredity is strange.
