I knew no good would come of making a free- speech icon of Flynt. "Hustler" is not "Playboy", or even "Penthouse". There is no disputing that it is a degrading, dirt- brained rag.......

Larry Flynt is a creation of the liberal-driven cultural decline of the post-war period in America. When a society is forced to accept the concept that all morality is a "personal matter" and "no one else's business", what results is a society where the Larry Flynts are given-by default-the same respect that is given to those who have earned it through accomplishments in business, statesmanship, or letters. The devaluation of real accomplishment by the elevation of deviance cannot be challenged, because the original ideals of the culture (by definition, unachievable by mortal man) have themselves been rendered null and void. Perhaps the Flynt-like poisons that were created by the liberal movement will-like some kind of chemo therapy-destroy the movement before they destroy the country. One consolation for conservatives is that they can deal with that prospect the same way they would deal with the risks of chemo therapy: by praying for a positive result...
