More on frontpage hotlists...

Another thing which seems to be triggering moves on the hot list...page views. The BEAS thread has been on the the list all weekend, most likely because one of the "cool posts" refers to the stock. But the cool post is not on the BEAS thread, it's on the Gorilla thread.

It has apparently caused many page views on the BEAS thread OR possibly new bookmarks. Hard to believe there were that many bookmarks on this thread this weekend as there was nothing of real interest going on and it was not AT ALL a "hot discussion".

I can say this as most of the posts are mine <VBG>

Just the usual regulars, the resident bear who still swears it's going to 10 bucks and the village idiot (also known on the GNET/INSP thread as stockputz) who harasses me no matter where I post. Oh, and my buddy brk who jumps on him every time he does! <G>

This pageview theory could also explain why that other thread is always atop the front page list. Many people read that thread purely for entertainment purposes now <g>

I think it's time that SI clarifies the criteria for a thread making the hotlist or hot stocktalk list on the front page.
