<i.>>-One link to a page that further describes the item being sold in that listing.<<

does this page have to be on ebay's server? if not, you could put a link on the dexcription page.

SB

The description page need not be on the Ebay server. However, if it connects to a place to sell merchandise elsewhere, it is not in compliance. I am leaving tomorrow AM so will address that when I arrive back.

i bet you could javascript a link to your site in the e-mail

I bet someone could but I have tried without success.

link means link. i'd leave the text until i was warned that it was wrong. a reasonable person could conclude url text is not a link

The email warned the text: www.davidjewelers.com is a link??

seems this policy shows ebay's confidence that they can do what they want with no repercussions. i'm not sure they can.

This could hurt them badly. Many Ebay sellers use Ebay to attract biyers to their own site. In the process, Ebay makes money on the listed item but Ebay becomes a no need concept for the "power seller."

I am going to play their game for a bit until I see it hurt listings which I believe will be the case. Then I will play my game. This was an experiment and far from a need to do project.

SB,

I have a solution based on your ideas:

cgi.ebay.com

Note Ebay makes money on their Billpoint which is something I do not need. I would rather have my ebay customers use their credit cards on my site because I pay 1.45% discound compared to Billpoint 3%. This could bite Ebay in the rea so to speak and I am in complete compliance.
