Did you lift the quote intact from a speech or discourse of one of the ancients? <g> I can imagine Nero or Julius Caesar saying "Baby, sweetheart, would I lie to you," but no, I lifted it from Henry Beard's funny little book, Latin for All Occasions under a section called 'Mogul Talk.'
