Talisman/Lundin - no comment,

Companies refuse to comment on possible deal

Talisman/Lundin - no comment

Upstream
14:41 GMT

Lundin Oil and Talisman Energy have refused to comment on a report last
Friday in UpstreamOnline that they are in talks about a major corporate deal
between the two. However, Lundin claimed that an agreement with a suitor
is imminent.

Ian Lundin said: "We cannot comment at all. We were hoping to make a
formal announcement this week, but now we are hopeful it will be next
week."

A spokesman for Talisman said: "We do not comment on yet another
Talisman rumour."

Lundin reiterated that the Swedish company wanted to continue in the oil
and gas business and desired a spin-off to develop its high potential, more
high risk assets through the sale of more mature assets.

He denied rumours in the market that Lundin may be positioning itself to
takeover Talisman's big Sudan operation, thereby giving Talisman a route
out of this troubled country. "I can confirm this is not the case," Lundin said.
