We're going to have to agree to disagree, Bob. The what is and what isn't reportable "list" is posted in the reputable and remaining standing coin dealers in the great metropolis of Portland OR as well as outlying suburbs, such as Beaverton and Hillsboro, etc.. The list is very specific by type and year, what is a collectible and what is a bullion coin and what sales of which kind are and aren't reportable and on why form and why and how often..

And these guys are the ONLY coin dealers left standing. I dare say Affordable, and the Columbia Coin folk (an associate of the Manfra Tordella and Brooks dealers of NY), and Alder Gold et al would take very kindly to being characterized in absentia by your proferred quoted expert of being myth promulgators.

RE: IRS public posting of regulations and private letters and subsequent enforcement actions...these are NOT myths, I assure you. I lived there and did business with these guys as a vest pocket dealer.

So, I'll stick with my personal experience and you quote the public natterings of the IRS. Remember, we were in the 3 test states out here...and it wasn't pretty, and is still pretty strictly adhered to.
