CHINA PRESS: Stocks Too Risky For Pension Funds -Lawmaker 11:15, 2001-06-11 SHANGHAI (Dow Jones)--Li Yining, a member of the National People's Congress finance committee, said it's too early for pension funds to invest in China's stock markets because the markets are still too speculative and are prone to excessive risks, the Securities Times reports. Li said pension funds won't be able to invest in stocks until the quality of listed firms improves, the report said. Li, who is also head of the panel drafting China's Securities Law, said the revised law won't be released soon, according to the report. He was speaking at a forum in Beijing Saturday.
