anybody fishing with me uses barbless hooks and must practice strict "catch and release"!

Can't eat any ? My daughter would like you. Sher spends some vacation time each summer with her godfather and his wife up near Georgian Bay (Lake Huron) where they live. She won't fish with him (to his dismay) because he doesn't practise catch and release with barbless hooks.

In truth I haven't fished much in 20 years. I still have my old Zebco Cardinal IV spincaster (are they still in business ?).
Best I remember was Shad fishing in the St Lawrence on the north side of Montreal. The water was pretty dirty (actually filthy) on shore but had very fast rapids in the centre. Landing just one of those was a great season, aside from the pike, smallmouth and a a bit of trout fishing up north.

regards
Kastel

edit: notice us Canucks practise with an 's' at the practice with a 'c'. :o)
