After the revolution life has been hard but he always remembers the days they recived the Gran Duke in their summer house! He is a man of dignity and honor, and Ostap asks him to pretend that he is apoleptic that goes into the fits, and people will give him hands outs! He is so angry at the propostion that spits in the Ostaps eyes, but at the end agrees!
