My WAG is that AMD lost a little UNITS market share due to OEM dumping Intel units inventory but maintained or gained a little $ share.

Actually, logic was this:

Intel says: held market share Reality: Major gains by AMD
Intel says: small gain in share Reality: Small gain by AMD
Intel says: gaining market share Reality: no change
Intel Says: huge gains Reality: major gains by Intel

Yes they would. Although, it's probably more self-delusion.
