re: Siemens mobile phone unit profit (negative)

Nice to be number 3 but ...

"the unit had made a 143 mil. (US$121.6 mil.) loss in its second fiscal quarter"

>> Siemens Mobile Profit to Wait until 2002

Technology powerhouse Siemens does not expect improvement in profit margins on mobile handsets sales until its next financial year starting October 2001, according to reports published by the German Financial Times today (6/11). At 1030 GMT shares were down 0.4% at 84.15.

Rudi Lamprecht, head of Siemens' ICM mobile communications, forecasts a 15% to 25% growth in mobile handsets sales worldwide over the next two years, quite lower than earlier forecasts, and fewer dramatic swings in sales volume.

Earlier this month the company announced that it would seek further cost savings from its mobile phone unit and promised to stick to profitability targets, although the unit had made a 143 mil. (US$121.6 mil.) loss in its second fiscal quarter. <<

One reason I enjoy being a finn is that there are few
stories wasted on the specific personal experience of one
specific journalist on one specific day, except in media
specifically distributed and sold for those
specifically interested in such specific issues.

Another reason can be found by replacing "specific"
with "great" in the sentence above.
(alternatively "greatest in the world", slightly
difficult, and the best one is obviously the other
side of the emotional propaganda coin, "evil")

A fifth is that the finnish language actually fully supports things like

specific-specifically
evil-eva??ly

(great for writing tight code or standards in a
clear, concise fashion, not loosely, left to the
interpretation of the reader)
