Jim,

You need to look at the percentage of the total sale. Then you need to look at COGS. Then you have to determine who is participating in the rebate, is it just Intel, does it include Rambus, does it include other component makers.

Maybe after you have all that information, you can venture a guess as to the effect on Intel's GM from those sales, which are still a small part of overall sales.

Sometimes a marketing program can meet short term objectives that lead to longer term positives.
