OT? Well, you could have High test or you could have Ethyl. High test - high test results for octane rating. Ehtyl - leaded gas, from Tetra ethyl lead & the Ethyl Corporation. Texaco, I beleive, was one of the pioneers of seasonal adjustment of vapor presssure - higher vapour pressure in the winter for starting, lower in hte summer to avoid vapor lock and "flooding" Of course, by the mid 50s, most every major had every improvement - so they started giving away glass ware..
