yup!
they got U.S. products, ripped em apart, and thought of how to make em better then sell them back to us at 17% off the US price. And Japanese govt subsidies to all the corporations and the Jap laws supported Jap corps to do this.

"Patent protection?" " ha ha!"

Just think of how well the U.S. would have done with a "no fail" guarantee written on US Treasury letterhead for our corporations !!

Following WWII, Japan had its infrastructure re-built by the US taxpayer, and then soon after their govt began writing out the R&D checks- but now that account has long since run dry.
