She used it correctly. Every encyclopedia, dictionary, and web page in the world verifies it. Your "correction" of her usage simply demonstrated your unfamiliarity with the adage. You were corrected in a kind and soft manner which allowed you to save face if you had so wished. SO...lick your wounds and relax!! I'm told there are a bunch of really neat killings tomorrow. If you take the daily papers from both sides of the cow pasture, you can send the Holsteins and the Jerseys both to Hell--Jersey Justice and Holstein Hell--better than cold porridge, for sure.
