It's funny you'd bring that up now, Ray. I was discussing the beauty of a simple shell with a client earlier today. When the important thing is simply to convey text, why do you need anything else? Shoot, we can talk about more sexy things, but sometimes all you want to do is send a note. A Note. A simple note. Why must one endure the b.s. of banner ads in order to say I love you, daughter, and make it home safely.

A m-m interface isn't needed when all I want to say is hi. Of course, when the lost mile bottleneck clears up, it wont really matter. Right? Bull.

In any event, my lost mile bottleneck isn't cleared up. It's still clogged. And I suspect that it shall always be thus (unless ftth the person comes to the rescue;).

BTW, is the screen in the center right-slightly of the page intended to support SI members who want to videe <sic> one another? That'd be cool, but again, not if your lost mile drain is clogged.

Thanks for the feedback Ray.

I took a very brief look at it before I posted the question here. I'm not one to dive into these "new..better...improved" dealies. Too many bells and whistles are a turnoff for me also. I don't like a lot of intrusive multimedia crap on sites where good old fashion text seems to do just fine. It's like MTVing up the damn music :)

Paying a subscription fee to use a site should exempt one from nuisance pop ups.....reminds me of cable tv where 90% of the 12-5AM programs are those %#@*+^ infomercials....I feel like asking for a monthly cable bill percentage rebate.

Good to see that you told the powers that be exactly how you felt about the beta.
