George most hedge funds and speculators are now programmed for "turtle" or trend trading ignoring fundamentals. Many years before Rubin & Co and now this administration Central Banks were intervening to stabilize currency exchanges.

The dollar moved higher IMHO due to the lack of intervention or cooperation from the US. The past has proven that only concerted intervention can change trend and stabilize currencies.

Letting currencies completely to "market forces" will result in NAZ type of price swings, which is not exactly an healthy phenomen.
