As to a "just society" there was much talk
about only allowing citizens who owned property the right to vote.

As a theory it has merit. People who owned property would have a stake in the matter. The amount could be small but add much commonality to the populace and reinforce the benefits and responsibilities of property rights. How does merely giving an 18 year old the right to vote benefit the society? How are they (in this society) grounded or connected to the populace? I read somewhere recently that if justice meant the same thing to everyone then all the USSC decisions would be 9-0.
