RE:"How many times have you paid for software only to end up throwing it into the trash bin? "

My worst case is Borland C++ compiler paid $600+ ($can) and less than a mount later there was a pallet full of those reduced to $39 ($Can). They never accepted to give me compensation. I must have more than 10 olds Windows or Office licences that are not anymore use in my house. I even had bought MSDN ($3700 $Can).

So, even if I use a copied win2000 on one of my computer, I think I could kill if ever Bill comes collect royalties here.

<How many times have you paid for software only to end up throwing it into the trash bin?> Amen, but I just keep it on the shelf. It's shelfware. I still haven't thrown out OS/2 or Dr DOS 6. OTOH, stuff I really used and liked, like Volkswriter, Financier II and Wordperfect 5.1, I've thrown out.

Jim,

How many times have you paid for software only to end up throwing it into the trash bin?

I bought food in the past that I didn't end up eating, and I threw it into the trash bin. Does that give me a right not to pay for my groceries next time?

Joe
