New Focus -3: Stock May Trade Higher Wednesday - Analyst

The company was recently battered by heavy insider transactions, pulling the
stock down to a 52-week low last week.
On Friday a sell off of the company stock was sparked by a registration to
unload 500,000 shares by U.S. Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based
in Menlo Park, Calif., forcing the company's stock to tumble 11%. The firm
registered to sell almost half a million shares of New Focus stock in
February.
Shares of the fiber optics concern have been decimated from it's 52-week
high on July 25 when the stock was trading at $165 a share.
Peter Green, a money flow analyst at Gerard Klauer Mattison, attributed the
heavy volume to possible short covering, a signal that, short of
"fundamental problems with the company" the stock could be bottoming.
He added that the company would probably trade higher Wednesday, citing a
rebound from its 52-week low reached Monday.
Green said it is likely a stock will gain ground on subsequent days if it
trades higher the day after reaching a year low.
New Focus recently gained as much as 12% with more than 4 million shares
trading hands. About 26 block trades were executed, though it was not
immediately known who they were traded by.
