The newsmax story is yet another example of selective fact-gathering ... the type of story you embrace. In fact, Jeffords bolted the GOP because Bush and his cabal of conservative cronies stiffed Jeffords on special education funding. Jeffords was led to believe that increases in special ed funding would be included in Bush's education budget. When the money was omitted from the final version of the budget, Jeffords felt doublecrossed. Actually, your source for news ... newsmax ... is late with this story. All this was reported in depth 6-2 by NPR.
