Elmer - Re: "Moto says they will sample their MX1 StrongArm processor in Q4 but it'll be slower than Intel's long shipping SA1110. Sampling over 3 months away means they've got nothing now but slower vapor. "

More importantly, PALM is losing market share rapidly and so is Handspring, a PALM OS licensee.

A year ago, it was important for Intel to win these accounts.

Now, it may be more important for Intel to feed Compaq all the StrongARMs and XScales CPUs and let the iPAQ PDA clean up the bulk of the handheld market.

WINTEL may yet dominate another major market.

Hi Elmer, RE: "MX1 will run at 140MHz to 200MHz...This chip will put Motorola on par with the performance of Intel's StrongARM processor"

What is Intel's SA MHz speed? The article implies only 200MHz. I thought it was a magnitude faster?
