As a Trader Freeus, you probably never will recoup your losses. Howwever, the above statement may still not be true. QUIT TRADING. Buy the right stocks, buy on dips, build nice positions in quality growth companies and sit back and chill.......One of several things will happen.....either the economy totally collapses and the markets with it and we are all screwed.......we stay in a flat up and down range for a few years as economy straightens itself out or we go higher. History says there will be lots of blips...lots of economic hurtful periods, but history also shows if you buy the right stocks at the right time/price....long term, ROI is rather nice. Now who knows what happens, but maybe, just maybe, we are being given a chance to buy quality companies that will be much higher 5 - 10 years from now....if you knew now that NTAP would be $120 in 5 years, you'd go out and put every penny you own in it. Well, we dont know what that stock or any stock will be in 5 years, but last year, everybody wanted to buy ntap at $120 and now everybody is scared of it at $17..........I guess my point is twofold....no, your not a trader, so quit trying to trade. You are correct and will not recoup your losses this way. Next, your only other alternative is to buy quality stocks at low prices, go to safehavens such as bonds/cd's and etc.....or put your cash under your mattress. What you see 5 - 10 years ahead, should help dicate what path you follow.....best of luck....keith
