You sure about that? Babe Ruth had a very good batting average.


It's close to being accurate, but not quite.

In 1940, while Ruth did indeed hold the record for HRs and led the league in strikeouts most of the 20's, he didn't hold the record for strikeouts in a season. Jimmie Foxx held AL record at 119, and Vince DiMaggio held the NL and Major League records at 134.
