CK,

The motivation of liberals on the global warming issue is that they really WANT some kind of natural disaster

Pretty bizarre comment.

When I was a kid everybody was talking about the next Ice Age. Global Warming is bunk. The planet will be just fine.

Like Will Rogers said,

Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.

All the Best,
josh

Cyberken, Get with it. Global warming has been measured in many ways. It is a fact. However like those attorneys who defend the tobacco companies there are always a few crooked scientists or ones who are in such need of a paycheck that they will sign any report about GW.
The result is a finger pointing exercise on GW.
The trouble is we cannot afford much more waiting. this is not a political matter. It is critical for the next 100 years.
True scientists in the field know we have global warming. Dilletantes think there is doubt.

Let's examine what you mean by a LEGITIMATE scientific study...............

.........namely, who does it and how are they chosen? You know, of course, that there will be contention about who does it, which you will blame entirely on the left.

There will also be dispute about how it is done. Do you appoint a commission to choose a design from competitive applicants? Or just give the job to Carl Rove?

How long does it take to do your legitimate study? And is your implication that there hasn't been a single legitimate study yet? (2000 scientists from 100 countries--all corrupt!)Or does legitimate just mean a study that you agree with?

Will your "legitimate" study be peer-reviewed? By whom? Only "legitimate" scientists? LOLOL!!!

Gosh, one legitimate study and the world will roll over.......imagine that!!

Cy, I would say that there is enough science to suggest that their is a connection between CO2 and the warming of the climate. But the full measure of the connection is no where near known with certainty and no definitive knowledge that it would lead to a catastrophic warming is demonstrated. Studying the nature of climate change is not wasted as this knowledge will have uses in projecting shorter term climate variations that could have major benefits. In fact more global warming may have many positive effect that outweigh the negative effects if any. Who knows except me and the shadow.

The kyoto joke was a stupid plan and in that china was not part of it only a retard would even consider it. The US is only 1/4 of the problem and our pollution per unit GNP is decreasing and our country may be the only place where this is true.
The increase in green house gases will be a problem of other nations and what happens in the US will evolve to a drop in the bucket.

But those jealous of America don't want to hear that.
