'So, what's different? This technology deals (in Las Vegas sense of the word) with/out/through knowledge, which will split humanity down the knowing-unknowing line. And the knowing will get richer and the unknowing will get poorer' I would agree and I think am taking appropriate precautions for me and mine :o). This tangent started however with maurice speculating that basically 'IT' , the Net , the entire complex of inter related machines and communications we are constructing will sometime in the near future become self aware, sentient if you will, and hence decide that we puny mortals are irrelevant. Similar to Neanderthals, chimps etc. we will become a side branch on the evolutionary tree as IT takes it's place as the next step in the evolutionary chain. More along the theme of the Terminator movies where technology is not ultimately beneficial to mankind. :o) :o) :o) :o) :o) :o) :o) :o) :o) :o) regards Kastel .
