AMD could not have survived the year of 1999 in today's environment. Because of all the new products AMD can live to see the Hammer time. Just don't buy calls on the way there and you will be fine.

Another aspect to the "code name game"...

A good point was raised in an email sent to me by another lurker (regarding AMD's willingness to switch code names)

SI lurker here.

People seem to be forgetting that AMD sells flash to car companies. It wouldn't be good to get into a squabble with GM about code names for processors.
