NOK lookin to open higher MARKET TALK: Consumer Spending Off To Good Start In 2Q

MARKET TALK can be found using code N/DJMT

8:34 (Dow Jones) Retail and food service sales inched up by 0.1% in May and
were up 0.3% excluding auto sales, right on consensus. The May increase
followed an upward-revised 1.4% increase in total sales in April. The
combined increases get consumer spending off to a strong pace in 2Q. (JM)
8:30 (Dow Jones) The afternoon reversal that brought major equity indexes
back from the dead Tuesday doesn't appear to have found its way into this
morning's action. The technicals are still painting a near-term negative
picture, but the market will take its cue partly from the upcoming retail
sales report for May. Beige Book later in the day. Lucent (LU) should see
some activity after S&P downgraded the company's debt rating to junk status.
Eli Lilly (LLY) backs views. Stock futures flat before data. (TG)
