As far as the Great Satan of software goes, I'm sure Bill will see to it that his own best interests are served. This doesn't necessarily bode well for AMD, as anyone who remembers the x-box saga will attest. Intel, having a lot more money, is a much better candidate for shaking down.

They are Intel, remember? Think of how much money Microsoft has invested in porting Win64 to Itanium. Why should they hesitate if Intel comes out with something else? From Intel's point of view, that is.
