Well, I have sending emails to AMD ever since Thoroughbred was announced urging them to produce an SOI variant of Thoroughbred. Apparently, they just chose to call such a processor Barton.

BTW, I said may reach 2.8 GHz or possibly even 3.0 GHz, and I said it wouldn't be in 2002. Since the only definite statement I made was that Barton would not reach 3.0 GHz, nor even 2.8 GHz in 2002, if you truly wish to contradict me you will have to advocate that Barton will reach at least 3.0 GHz in 2002.
