My problem with that premise is that GE might easily break down. GE Capital is heavily exposed to failing telecoms outfits and may have to take some tidy hit, but more than that, when the market recognizes the size of the problem, GE's PE may suffer a bit. After all, a very big chunk of GE growth and earnings came from GE Cap, and if that hose stumbles, what will they sell? Refrigerators?
