Hi Gersh,

I've had the same experience.

I'm not sure of the differentiation of the terminology.

I often sell naked puts on a stock I'd like to buy. They require my account has the purchasing power to cover the transaction if it is exercised.

What is the difference between writing or shorting when you sell naked puts?

P.S. I'm scratching my head on selling naked puts on JDSU - it brok below 15 today and it is looking cheap somewhere in here.

Any thoughts?

Bob
