Whether you choose to believe it or not, the REAL issue was State Rights and a federal power grab. It was a movement which had started in Congress all the way back in the 1840s. Certainly, slavery was an issue too. But slavery was an issue even at the time when the Constitution was being drawn to replace the Articles of Confederation (by trickery, I might add -- which almost caused another Revolution).

Actually, it was the Christian churches in Virginia and 5 other Commonwealths which blackmailed the creators of the new union to accept slavery -- or else they would refuse to become part of the new "United States of America."

All this is true history. What is revisionist is the pap you ignorantly believe.

John Brown did have it right. Unfortunately, like Timothy McVeigh, the ends do NOT justify the means. Especially when you commit the ultimate violation of rights by murdering innocent civilians in a self-proclaimed war. Because of this, although Brown's cause was just, he was a terrorist.

Welfare will be phased out this century. I also predict the IRS will meet its demise as will income and corporate taxation -- which are primarily used to redistribute wealth, give bureaucrats power they were never supposed to wield, and enable evil power seekers to embark on social experiments designed to change individual's behavior to what they want it to be.
