Left-wing press may well accurately define a European society that is decidedly moving to the left. The recent election in Great Britain should prove ample evidence of such. My big beef with the so-called "Star Wars" ABM system is that it remains science fiction. Also, does anyone really believe that the project would come in under the $60 billion budget? Or is $600 billion more accurate? And even if it did work, how long until the other side figures out our electronics and creates "stealth" missiles? As far as a deterrent is concerned, every one of our missile-carrying nuclear subs packs more firepower than was unleashed in all of World War II. Think about that.
