Had those who wanted to abolish slavery insisted on it when the Constitution was written, there almost certainly would have been no Union- -or a much smaller one. It was believed by many at that time that slavery would eventually die out. And it might have- -but then Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin and slavery made excellent economic sense again.

I do not feel I am making light of slavery or racism. I was making light of the idea of reparations, which seems an impossible task and IMO, is just another liberal idea to soak people.

I agree with your post up to the point of you saying that whites do not understand anything about racism.(Even without knowing what your definition of "white" is.) I know many Christians, including myself, that have been subjects of a form of racism for years now. Have you not noticed?
