By Julie Rannazzisi, CBS.MarketWatch.com
Last Update: 7:33 AM ET Jun 14, 2001

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Stocks prices are expected to open on a soggy note Thursday as cautious investors look to add to Wednesday's losses.

September S&P 500 futures declined 4.10 points, or 0.3 percent, and were trading about 2.70 points below fair value, according to HL Camp & Co. Nasdaq futures, meanwhile, fell 25.00 points, or 1.3 percent.

Treasury prices headed north, getting some traction from expected sogginess in the stock market.

The 10-year Treasury note climbed 3/32 to yield ($TNX) 5.255 percent while the 30-year government bond tacked on 11/32 to yield ($TYX) 5.635 percent.

In economic news, the May producer price index is due out at 8:30 a.m. A survey of economists conducted by CBS MarketWatch.com projects a 0.2 percent increase both overall and at the core. The latter excludes food and energy components, which tend to be volatile on a month-to-month basis. View Economic Preview and economic calendar and forecasts.

In the currency arena, dollar/yen was flat at 122.10 while euro/dollar edged down 0.5 percent to 0.8512.
