boxed = equal long and short position simoultaneously in the same stock (therefore your position is neutral)

boxing is usually done in a squeeze especially when a stock is hard to get a borrow on. once you get short you may risk not being able to get the borrow again so you keep the original shares short and go long the same amount to ride the squeeze out.
